Creation Trio - Sketch vs Final

I was going through my files and found some sketches I made for Creation Trio so I made a little video!

I usually do a digital mock up of my traditional pieces and for a complex one like this figuring out the different elements and how to fit three detailed characters in one image was very important!

Find me and my art elsewhere!

it’s time again for the ✨#ADHDCosmicTakeover!✨

my comic this year is about pinballing helplessly between interests and the frustrating feeling of being a “jack of all trades, master of none”
(but who said i have to be a “master” of anything anyway? fuck off!)

thank you so much to dreamadoodles for organizing this year! pls check out the tag to see more comics from other contributors 🌠

Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!

It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.

Introducing: SQUID BAG!

  • soft!
  • large!
  • impractical!
  • squid!

This was my break project, just for me, entirely handsewn and indulgent. I love him.

Here’s the squid bag at my side for better scaling!! (I’m 5′8′‘.)

If you want to read how I made the bag (and also see noncensored feet), I wrote almost three thousand words on just that!!

im gonna say it.

you cannot separate monsterfucking from queerness.

& for the love of fuck i don’t need babygays coming at me with “you’re equating being gay with being a monster!” go back to tiktok, this is for the adults.

monsterfucking is so queer bc so many of us feel unlovable, so many of us can’t relate to real world affections & attractions. (aces & aros in particular)

so yeah, i wanna fuck that monster, bc deep down, i hope someone will love the monster i think i am.

also monsters are Very Hot & that needs no explanation so.

I just had a small epiphany why you might like other people’s art more than your own:

It’s the lack of suspension of disbelief.

When you see something someone else has drawn or painted, you take in the content faster than you take in the technical aspects. You experience it as pseudo-real, the same way you stop perceiving animated characters as drawn or book characters as written as you get into the story.

On the other hand, when you yourself have made something, all you see is the machine behind the theater, so to speak. You’re probably thinking about lines, shading, coloring in a “does this make sense? Is this the best decision I could have made?”-kind of way.

I think that’s also why sometimes, pictures you haven’t looked at for a long time starts looking nice to you again, à la: “Hey past-me was unto something! Why can’t I replicate it nowadays?”. It’s probably specifically because you’ve forgotten the process of making it that you are now seeing it with fresh eyes.

Art is an illusion, but a magician has a hard time tricking themself. So don’t be so hard on yourself: it’s probably just that you can’t see the magic right now, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there.

You just put something into words that I have been feeling for a while. This might actually get me to try digital painting again, thank you.

Omg, I’m glad to hear 💖

Does anyone have an update on where things are at with the writers strike? It’s disappeared from my various feeds and algorithms.

The writers’ strike is ongoing and the studios are still not returning to the negotiating table. Unfortunately a lot of the coverage has tapered off because we’re on 50+ days of striking and it’s not new anymore. The last strike in 2007 lasted 100 days, so don’t be surprised if this strike lasts as long, or even longer.

The biggest recent news is that the Directors’ Guild of America (DGA) voted to ratify their new agreement with the studios (article from June 23), and it appears likely that the actors’ guild (SAG-AFTRA) will also take a deal instead of striking (article from June 24). Although this is disappointing news, it’s completely expected. During previous strikes, the WGA held its own without other unions going on strike. Which is to say—don’t be disheartened by the news that there won’t be a triple strike. The WGA is strong enough!

Please keep vocally supporting the WGA online to keep the pressure on the studios & to keep WGA members motivated and encouraged! There are many ongoing donation drives, such as the Star Trek fan snack squad (Twitter account required to DM the organizer) and the Our Flag Means Death snack squad (opens the PayPal fundraising page—no Twitter required). There’s a longer list of ongoing donation drives here.

The Entertainment Community Fund is also always accepting donations to support entertainment workers affected by the strike. Please boost and encourage your friends to keep supporting the strike. Hashtag #IStandWithTheWGA #DoTheWriteThing to boost the cause!

Attempting to get my students to fucking come to class

Good news!!!! Had an average of 17/24 students in both classes show up to the review!! That’s 71% of the class! This is compared to an average 11/24 in previous semesters.

Bird worked

Also for everyone in the notes who wanted to see the Bird: I’ve got these pics pinned on my blog too but here is The Boy
